Booker T. Washington High School
Thanks to the support of Tulsans, the 1999 Bond funded a brand new Booker T. Washington High School with modern, comfortable learning spaces for students, teachers, and support professionals. The continued support from voters on subsequent bonds has ensured that the school has the funding it needs to provide high-quality curriculum and library materials, instructional technology, and arts and athletic equipment for all students.
At Booker T. Washington High School, the 2021 Bond for Tulsa Public Schools includes:
- Remodels for the school’s science labs and investments in STEM equipment;
- “Refreshing” the school’s cafeteria with new furnishings to make it a flexible multi-use space for students, teachers, and support professionals;
- Extensive safety and security improvements, a new roof, and parking lot repairs;
- New tennis courts and stadium waterproofing;
- Repairs to the HVAC system to improve air quality supported by CARES Act federal funding; and
- Upgrades to the lighting, sound, and curtains in the auditorium.
